AU Silicon City was initially a part of the Amrapali Group’s extensive housing plans, but they were put on hold because of financial irregularities and poor management. In a historic ruling, the Supreme Court of India charged NBCC (India) Ltd., a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (MoHUA), with carrying out these housing projects in a manner overseen by the court. As a result, ASPIRE (Amrapali Stalled Projects Investments Reconstruction Establishment), a Section 8 business, was established to manage the construction, repair, and delivery of impacted properties, including NBCC Silicon City.
